I am in the process of making my own brake lines to replace those on my '67 Datsun Roadster. These lines are anywhere from 22" to 6 feet long and are all 3/16" in diameter.
Should I zinc and chromate before or after I bend the lines? It sure would be easier to do the plating on straight lines, but I'm concerned that the bending may damage the plate job. Advice please......... |

It would be best to plate them after bending. Zinc is not too brittle, but depending on the angle of your bend it may crack and then you'd lose your cathodic protection.
