Here you go: Caswell Inc. - Silverplater
Hello, I have 2 Jon Brown Sidelights for a 1914 model T that need to be restored. I tried to polish the reflectors in the inside of the lamp to restore their shine, but the finish was so thin I wore down through the coating to the metal which appears to be brass. The reflectors are soldered inside the lamps and it would be very difficult to disassemble the lamps to remove the reflectors to re-plate. I assume that the plating was silver. My question is, what would the easiest, least expensive method to restore these sidelights?
Thank you,
Glenn

Thank you for your reply. I saw that page on the website and watched the video. It appeared that rapid rubbing of the surface was necessary to apply the product. This reflector is inside the square body of the light and the rapid movement of applying would be impossible. Would it be used in addition to the Plug and Plate system, which I read you need to nickel plate before the silver plating over brass? Or would it be ok on it's own? I am trying not to have to disassemble the lights as I don't think I could get them back together.
Thank you,
Glenn
Glenn, the SilverPlater will work over brass alone. The Plug-N-Plate is a separate plating process. You can choose to use one or the other. You don't have to use your hand inside the lamp. You can make a polishing bob and get the same results. The only drawback is that you may end up silvering surounding areas if you're not carefull.
By the way, the offer is still good. (Or you can send the whole assemblies)
