Nickel Plate - Plating Powder Coating Buffing Anodizing

Hello I have an alluminum barrel that is currently nickel plated. I just got an annodizing kit and was wondering what the best way to remove the nickel without ruining the finish or the inside diameter. This barrel is going to be annodized after so keep that in mind. Is there an chemical solution that will take it off without ruining the alluminum underneath.
Take note that I have all the chemicals and equipment to annodize, so that may help.

If you set up to anodize, you will first electro-strip the nickel and then start anodizing the part.

How do I go about electro striping?

It is the same set up that you use to anodize... A dilute sulfuric acid bath aith an alumunum or leas cathode and the workpiece ao be stripped as the anode. Requires more current than anodizing though.

Will this strip the Copper layer in between the Nickel and the base alluminum too?
