Default nickel plating antique stove parts

I have stove parts that have spots where the nickel has wore off. Can i use the plug and plate to brush the area that have been worn off?

I think you'll have a hard time getting the new plate to match the old plate, I think you'd be much better off stripping the parts and using electroless nickel to replate the whole piece.
