Thanks again man, you've helped me out alot.

well, it al depends on what the customer wants, if he wants both sides done, then do it.
You really need to get an oven big enough to hang stuff to cure, that way you can do items complete.
with the polished lip, you will need high heat tape and a razor blade to mask off the part you want polished. the line has to be perfect and sharp and clean. hard to do right, also if its already powdered, you need to chemically strip the old stuff off and prep the rim.
I charge 120-140 each rim when I have to do taping off and sometime more depending on work i have to do to make them right.
    hope it helps.

That's what our guy is wanting, black centers with the lip polished. Should I coat the whole rim or can I get away with just doing the front of the rim. Hate to keep bothering you with Q&A but I like your work. Scottrods & you are the only one's helping us out on this. Thanks again.

we hang everything for coating, I would have done differently on the pattern, like purple center and polished lip, but the customer wanted them all purple, they are on the Palapa's Restaraunt display truck.
wet sanding depends on what surface texture im looking at knocking down, mostly I use 320 and then 400 and then 600 and then 800.
    Hope it helps

Hey man checked out your web site & you do some excelent work! I have some aluminum slot rims that I'm working on. Messed around on tools & and lil dumb **** powder coating supper wet black and turn out great except for the aluminum piece, but that was before we learned about outgassing. Got that taken care of after a lil more thread reading, looking at 450 deg. for 45 min. I noticed on the purple rims you coated the the whole rims. Is that for a reason, or because you can bake your parts hanging? We only have a kitchen oven right now & was only going to coat the front side of the rim. I guess if needed we could make a hanger in the oven. Also what grit do you use on the wet sanding? Didn't mean to right a book here but there is nothing in our area for 50 miles that does PC and we want to get this going and do it right.
