I found a two horse motor on Craigs List. I re-poured the bearings and it does great. Ten inch wheels turn at 2500 rpm.

Dude! Looks great! I did some babbitt work once, surprised on how easy is was (Gingery instructions), though many people are afraid of it/don't trust it. It's still in operation today on an 8" jointer, and I can't see any signs of wear on it. However I added some snap lever sight feed oilers. Flip the lever and every ten seconds or so it adds a drop of oil.
Buffer looks great, and I'm sure you saved some loot. I love craigslist, could write a book on all the smoking hot deals I got from there.

Awesome, I love reading about people fabricating what they need from scrounged parts.
Thanks for the appreciation guys. I love salvaging old machinery. I would rather buy an old car and spend ten thousand dollars putting it back like new than have a new one. I currently have a 1984 Isuzu I-Mark diesel, and a 1980 Mercedes Benz 300D. The Benz is like a new car. New front end, rotors, calipers, transmission, tie rods, rear half shafts, but I hardly ever drive it. I love that Isuzu.
