Does the polished metal have to be cleaned before application? if so what cleaning process needs to be used?

Can these be painted over? in particular with acrylic laquers with tend to "melt" other types of paint.

Will the metal underneath these coatings NEVER tarnish again or does it just prolong the polished finish before polishing is needed again?

Are there any adhesion issues to metal? with paint that goes over it?

Can these be sprayed with an airbrush?
