Default what size buff wheels?

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS THE BIGGEST BUFF WHEEL I CAN USE ON A 1 1/2 HP 3400 RPM BUFFER THAT WOULD GET THE BEST CUTTING ACTION ON A ALUMINUM SAND CASTING AFTER SANDING A 400 GRIT?
AND WOULD BIGGER BE FASTER.I AM LOOKING TO BUFF IN PRODUCTION OF ALUMINUM VALVE COVERS THAT CAN BE SEEN @WWW.BULLITTMANS PARTS.COM

I'd probally stick to a 8-10 inch wheel, stacked 2-3 deep. How many amp is you buffer? Amps is important as it usually denotes how hard you can lay into the part. I use a 1hp buffer and use 8 inch sisal's stacked 2 deep and get good results, but for browns and reds i use 6 inch wheels stacked 2 deep. Good luck.

There's a small table that gives you an idea on what size wheels you can use with a given HP buffer. I *think* it's almost all the way to the bottom.
