i dont think so, i buffed hard enough to bring a shine, just can't get the haze out or the scratches. i've been told to go bigger, that is why i'm thinking of the 12 inch loose cotton. i dont have 300 bux for a grinder. or buffer. if someone can link me to ebay w/ a good used one or new one, i'd appriciate it.

there is no possible way your going to be able to use this machine with a 10" or 12" wheel . when you use the 8" with no problems as you say---the grinder has to bog down if you press into the wheel with the item your buffing right??

The reason you probally cant get scratches out are you can't put enough pressure to get a good cut, and from my experience a haze can be caused with lack of speed and power aswell.

2 amps is too little. It will work, but you'll buff faster, and more effectivly with a bigger buffer with the same wheels. I first started with a 2.4 amp grinder, and i couldnt put hardly any prssure on it without bogging. What kind of parts are you polishing?

Caswell has a selection of buffers, or check out ebay. get something atleast 3/4HP and 8+ amps for your 8 inch wheels.....than get some extender shafts from caswell.

i'm polishing smll parts. probalby area of. 2.5 x 4.5 inches....

less than that. the most of that part is: 1.5 x 2.5 inches.

if u're familiar w/ a goped, it's the part on the engine that holds the pullstart. its a plate.
