Default will my bench grinder pull out enough power?

I have a robyi bench grinder rated at 2.1 Amps and i'm not sure if it will have enough juice to pull a 12" wheel. what do you guys think?

All that tells us is it's a pretty small motor.

You need to look at the horsepower.
To push a 12" wheel, you'll need a 2hp - 19 amp 3500rpm machine.

2 amps wont do squat. Thats probally about 1/2 HP, and won't move 12 inch wheels. Invest in a nice buffer making atleast 10-12 amps and atleast 1 hp. You'll be able to lay into pieces and see some nice results.

i can assure you it wont polish anything even with an 8" wheel---been there done that, find you a real buffer if your gonna be a serious metal polisher.

i easily pull 8 inch wheels with ease, i'm justworried about the 12 inch, i'm probably just gonna use the 12 fluffy loose cotton for my white rouge. and prolly a 10 inch spiral and sewn for teh black and brown.

You're using 10 inch wheels on a 2 amp motor? Yes, it will spin them, but it wont have ANY power. As as soon as you attempt to put any pressure it will bog the grinder down. Being able to "lay into" the buffer is what gives you speed in polishing and from what i have experienced, much better results.

It's probally 1/3 HP, maybe 1/2. Thats not enough power for buffing. It is enough for a grinder, because a grinder dosnt require much pressure against the stone, where as buffing requires laying into the part if you will. Think of HP as HP, and Amps as Torque......

you must buff with very light pressure and very small parts .
