I tried this stuff call Stryp-ese. It's a toluolene (or however the hell you spell it) based stripper and it took a LONG time to even bubble the paint on any painted metal. Too much work so now I just chuck it in the blast cabinet and go at it with glass bead. The resulting surface isn't too bad - nothing the greaseless compounds and some elbow grease can't handle. I've had good results blasting at 80psi at around 6-7cfm.
I usually dont bother with stripping paint. Sanding usually takes care of riding your part of paint.
if you want to use paint stripper use aircraft brand it will eat the paint and you too be very carefull with it.

i used that stuff on my car and it took off 4 coats of paint ... i was not sure about using it on alum. i figured it would stain it to the point it would not buff out
