Thats one good looking motor Polishinginc. What all did you use to get it that way?

Skiddz I don't know where you find all the time to do the stuff you do. Man do you ever sleep.

That's a NICE lookin' case Polishinc. Mine used to look like that until I started reassembling. Gonna need to touch it up a bit once it's all back together and I stop gettin' my grubby hands on it..

Mole, I don't sleep a lot. I only need about 4 hours a night and I'm good to go. Worknights I usually don't go to bed until at least 1 and then I'm up and out the door by 6. I'm also self-employed so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. :)

Wife and kids are all usually zonked by 9 so I get 3-4 hours each evening to do what I want. I don't care for TV so I putz around in the garage or on the computer. I'll be out in the garage, coffee in hand by 7 tomorrow, just waiting to fire up the buffer and get back to it.. eheheh

That makes alot of sense now I see how you get so much done. I don't sleep all that much either, goto bed around 11 or 12 and off to work by 5am. The problem right now is its cold at night so im not much in the mood to go into my garage and freeze. So. Cal must be nice right now.

Hows the new polisher. Could you email the info on it (make, model, amps, horsepower, and the main thing can you plug it into your typical wall outlet 110v) mole@charter.net

Cold? What's that??? eheh I just walked in from another couple hours at it. Garage is nice and warm with a couple 1500W halogen worklight burnin'. Sun was out all day today. Got a little cooked on my face 'cuz I dragged the buffer out into the driveway for today's efforts..

Rear swingarm and linkage are on, front lower A-arms are on. Got a small fitment problem with the uppers. Nothing a drill press and a belt sander won't fix. :)

Mole, will send ya the info before I call it a night...

Thanks for the info Skiddz. That price was alot cheaper than I expected, i'll probably order one next week. Did you use a bench grinder before you bought that buffer? If so is it worth the money?

I don't want to hear about how warm you are right now. I always have to hear from my friend that lives in Chula Vista. The sun was out all day here today but the high was still only 59.

I bought some of that krylon paint today but not sure if it will match up to my colors (2002 blue). I put that shift kit in tonight, was pretty simple but its gonna cost me for not using the proper tools. I broke my inner hub cause I didn't use that tool that holds it to pull the clutch basket. Needless to say when I order the new inner hub im also ordering the tool. Anyways now that the clutch cover is going to be off for about a week I figure I might as well polish it. Did you blast yours or use strypese? I'll probably strip it.

I took pics of my rims tonight i'll post once my brother inlaw sends them to me, he didn't bring anything for me to hook the camera up to my computer. I have a pic of before the anodizing was taken off. Then one after its off. Finally my first finished product. I just hope the pics turn out, couldn't tell by just viewing them from the camera. BTW these rims were my first attempt at a big project. One down 3 to go, well 2 1/2 Ones all sanded just needs polishing.

Actually, I was using a Makita 1/2" drill clamped to my bench and/or my trailer. 4" wheels and a lot of patience worked pretty good. I literally wore the bearings out on the drill so "had" (that's what i told SWMBO anyways! lol) to get a bufing machine. Was it worth the money? Hell yes! I can do parts SO much faster and with better quality now.

I still use the drill (It's been re-bearinged) for driving my flex shaft and occasionally for use with greaseless compounds.

Oh did I mention it was 68 here today and I was in shorts?? :)

Sucks about you inner hub.. I have a *LOT* of tools I bought for a special purpose and have used ONCE.. I learned long ago that a half-assed approach to a full-assed job will bite you every time.

Lookin' forward to seein' the pics.

Got the upper A-arm fitment problem solved, but need to take 2 parts to a machine shop for "alteration" before I can bolt 'em up for good. My overly anal-retentive perfectionist side got the better of me. Funny, the garage is spotless, but my office here is a s**t-hole.. hehehe

Ya I think i'll order that buffer tomorrow. I was working on another rim today an kept stopping the motor on mine.

I'd tried to post some pics this morning but couldn't figure it out. How do you post a pic here, i've only done it through email.

I know it was stupid but I didn't think it would be that tough to get that nut off. Guess what lesson learned. Anyways i'll be calling alba tomorrow as well. I can't stand any of the shops around here so I mail order everyting.

Weather was nice today maybe 60, was able to be outside in a tshirt for once.

You guys are making me sick with the warm weather you have! Freezing at 59?? ya gotte me kiddin me! lol Today is a warm day now, 44 here in good ole Delaware. What I wouldn;t give to be in the good warm sun right about now, I am a summer person and in my opinion summer is too short around here! Maybe someday when I am rich I shall move to socal and enjoy sun and motorcycles all year round.

Have ya tried bikebandit.com? They're cheaper than Alba and just as fast in getting the goodies to you. I live about 30 miles from Alba, but I make the trek down quite often 'cuz they usually have the parts I'm looking for in stock. (And the girls at the register are VERY easy on the eyes. hehe)

Mole, to post a pic here is easy. Put your pic somehwere reachable on the 'net. (i.e your personal web space) Then put the code to "see" it in your message. Click the "Img" button, then type out the full URL to your pictire, then click the "Img" button again. Like this:

""

Don't put the quotes in. I had to put 'em in to keep the system from actually looking for a pic.

Fireblade, summer lasts all year around here. :) Gonna be another day close to 70 again. Man this weather sucks! lol
