scrubber,abrasive or setup - Plating Powder Coating Buffing Anodizing

What is everyones experiences with scrubber wheels, nylon abrasive wheels and set-up wheels(abrasive wheel system). What are the pros and cons of each? I want to prepare carbon steel, aluminum, ect prior to triple plating.

I have just recently started using 2" nylon discs for surface prep before plating. I have used medium and fine discs. I think they work really well because they are more gentle on the base metal than sanding discs. I have a tendancy to make more gouges than remove them when using sanding discs. The nylon are good for getting casting lines, pits and gouges out quickly.

they sure beat sanding by hand ... and when you are done you look like pig pen with the dust ..... they cut you prep time down alot ..
