Unusual Aluminum Polishing Request

Hi,


New to the forum. I play pedal steel guitar. These guitars cost $4-5000.00! I need some help removing fine scratches from the endplates and pedal bar. I usually use Flitz which gives a nice shine but leaves the very fine scratches. Here is a link to see what I'm dealing with:

I can't remove the endplates so my options are limited.

Is Jeweler's Rouge non-abrasive? Any advice appreciated!

i can't tell you more than that .. i never messed with them kind of parts before

I'd hit that with a flannel wheel and some white rouge and see how it comes out. if you can take those end plates off before you polish, you'll save yourself some nasty cleanup.

Taking the endplates off is not an option Could I use the white rouge by hand?

You can apply it with a cloth, but elbow grease will also be needed

Is the white rouge the finest of all your polishing componds? I'm looking to get rid of those fine, swirly scratches that can only be seen in the right light!

What applicator to use by hand?
