I figured I would start a new thread for this one in case anyone else is interested. I finally after 3 weeks stopped destroying everything and have some really quality pieces. I should after the money and time I spent. Now I am trying to finish my parts with a laquer or whatever, or do I even do that? I used the VHT laquer and went through the process of baking it, and it does not look as vibrant as it did before. It looks nice, but you can see a difference, definitely duller. I don't know if I should just not finish it and keep polishing all of the time, or use the Zoop Seal. Not really sure what the zoop seal does though. I want to be able to not have to keep up so much maintenance on the bike. If you have any suggestions, i am all for it.
thanks, Kenny |

K,
I've polished lots of items on my bike and have never tried to do anything to 'cover' it. Most of my stuff is aluminum so it's not going to rust. All I do is use polish to keep it looking shiny and that isn't as often as you might think. And yeah, most of the stuff that you can coat it with is going to take away from the mirror finish that you have worked so hard to achieve. It's not worth it to me to loose some of the shine just so I don't have to maintain it...and it's not that much work to maintain it anyway. I've heard about zoopseal and nothing bad about it. It's supposed to be one of those once a year deals to help protect your stuff and it won't dull the finish. |
