Polishing Aluminum Intake Manifold

Hello...I am wanting to try and polish an Edelbrock intake I have laying around the house. No one sells a "kit" to do this...I know I need lots of sandpaper in various grits...but could someone tell me the part # of the tips and what companies to order them from 3m? etc? also could someone post and give me a general idea of how to accomplish this task?
