Default to much heat?

this is getting hard to deal with! the more i try the worse it gets. it seems that when i try to buff out scratches i get a haze ang can't get rid of it. it looks like the aluminum is getting to hot and burning. holding the piece at an angle you can see brown in the metal. this is with the emery. and also i see grain in the metal will sanding more get this out? i am not giving up but am very irritated.
