Default Polishing/chroming engine parts.

I am new to all of this. I have never polished / chromed anything before. I currently acquired a 87 Toyota Supra Turbo and a 92 Suzuki GSXR. I would like to chrome / polish most of the engine parts that I can without having to pay large amounts of money for someone else to do it. I think there is more satisfaction when a job is done yourself. The only problem is that some of the parts are exposed to very hot tempratures. Some examples of what I would like to polish is the alternator, valve covers, shock covers. I would also like to give the fan shroud (plastic) and metallic chrome look. I don\'t know where to start.
Please point me in the right direction.

Default Re: Polishing/chroming engine parts.

Do you know what kind of metal your parts are made from? It\'s important to know this as it makes a huge difference in how they are polished.

You might want to look at our SilvaChrome kit for putting a metallic finish on your plastic parts. See http://www.caswellplating.com/silvachrome.html
