yeah mike been real busy w/ s.s. trim. i hate s.s. its such a pain, i am ordering some special bars from caswell this week to try(fastcut s.s. bar) hopefully that will make a difference. also been working on getting the scooter back together, i cant wait to ride again. also about to start up the powder coating game. i think i can make more $$ faster that way. how about you bro life treating you good? keep in touch.

pickle,

Things are slow now but I'm glad...I have a day job, and was polishing til 9 pm most nights all spring. Just finished an intake manifold, ended up making half the minimum wage but oh the experience, lol. Only stainless I've done was a brake rotor for a shovelhead. I found out you don't start too coarse 'cause it's a bitch to get the scratches out.

Dunno zackly where you're located but hey half the riding season's gone where I live...better get it on and get in the wnd, man!

I looked at powdercoating but decided to stick with the polishing - it's got the lowest overhead for me. Might get into smalltime plating after a while...platers around here only do industrial stuff.

Later...

well, I went ahead and bought the caswell 3/4hp, 3600rpm kit. I hope this unit would run more than 10 minutes before it lose it power. the converted grinder I had would get so weak when it heats up after 5 minutes of use. It was useless for any polishing.

I was using a converted grinder but it was heating up so fast so I decided to order a new 3/4 motor from Caswell. I hope this is sufficient for my polishing jobs.

it will work .. i got a 3/4hp dual speed buffer and i got to old motors that are 3/4 1 being higher then the other on rpms i use them for polishing tail lights and composted head lights .. but for metal polishing the 3/4 will work good unless you want to go bigger on hp and trust me the part will get hotter quicker

oh, I meant the motor that I was using got heated up so fast and it became so weak that I could put any pressure on the grinder/buffer.
