I am fairly new to polishing so can someone please explain the proper use of the greaseless compounds? When using on my aluminum wheels to remove the machining lines it seems to drag the aluminum in some areas. I followed the instructions on the package and let the compound dry to the touch before using. Is this correct or should I just apply and use like you would buffing compounds? Please help!!

It sounds like you're using too much pressure on the wheels. Greaseless compounds are very abrasive and will quickly remove large amounts of metal.
Try a lighter touch.
