Thread: Buffing wheel cement or greaseless

  1. Buffing wheel cement or greaseless

what would you guys prefer on cast aluminum to get rid of the tough casting and pits...Wheel cement with oxide or greaseless. I am thinking of getting some felt bobs and was wondering which product works best. This is for a turbo compressor housing and some aluminum valve covers. Thanks.

    Turbo Charger Compressor housing:

I just polished a Garrett T3 Compressor housing and used a combination of 220, 320 cartridge rolls and grease less. I then wet sanded with 600 and 1000 grit wet and dry.

I then used Sisal/Emery to start the buffing, and then finished with White Rouge.

The housing are hard and take a lot of buffing. you might even want to go to 1500 grit wet and dry before you try buffing!
