Actually those el-cheapo quartz workshop lights from Home Depot, etc. put out a lotta heat. Or check in the powdercoating section here, maybe they use them...

Just be careful, don't wanna melt yer clearcoat.

When I've painted cars, I've used 800 or 1000-grit _wet_ paper to get rid of the orangepeel, followed by 1500 then 2000 wet for a high gloss.

just wondering... i got a Porter Cable 7424 buffer/polisher for Vday. can i use an aggressive polish with a foam cutting pad for the clear coat, then move on to a mild polish with a polishing pad to finish it off i'm not sure how familiar you guys are with detailing (neither am i really) but i just built up a detailing kit for a hobby mainly using Zaino products....

I would never use a machine to get the orangepeel out of paint...but then I'm pretty much old school. And if it's bodacious orangepeel, compound alone ain't gonna get it anyway...
