Default Polishing motorcycle pegs

Does anyone know the easiest way to sand motorcycle pegs? In particular the rigid part for the sole of the shoe to keep from slipping. there appears to be some gry type of paint or coating, will paint remover take this off?

When I sand the pegs I can't seem to get in between only the high points.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Since I don't quite know how the peg looks, just me thinking I would use Black compound with Sisal wheel, this will remove regular paint and should take the metal down to what you need for your final step.

On that style of peg, I bead blast to get the recesses clean and to bare metal. There are some wheels similar to a wire wheel but the bristles have a abrasive coating. SS

If it's a modern sportbike, it's anodized....use sodium hydroxide to stip it, then go right at it with brown on a vented flap disc..then white on loose and BLLLIIINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! Dont worry about sanding them, the grooves arent too deep for the wheels!

sodium hydroxide is lye it can be found in easy off oven cleaner it works well for anodizing removal. just get a can and shoot a heavy coat, let sit for half an hour then rinse off. you will be able to see a difference in the color of the pegs if it is anodized.

I polish those same type of pegs all the time and all I do is just polish them and then plate. THe polish will remove what you need and polish at the same time. Black with sisal wheel or a yellow vent wheel.
