Actually I charge 30 an hr. for labor and polishing, also I have a list for my chrome parts that are made up so the customer can pick and choose. The bike shops all charge anywhere from 30-84 an hr. so I am still in the ball park, I don't disassemble completly but pretty close and I also do up-grades and any mechanical problems, this last bike that I did was wrecked and I had to repair all of that along with the chrome and polishing, man I wish I did this full time but my full time job has great benifits...

I hear that!...I actually havent come up with an hourly rate yet...I guess I should. I charged a flat rate of 3500 beans...1400 of that was the exhaust! Ouch...did I bone myself?

One thing you want to remember is try to keep your speed up so your work doesn't cost more than the chrome, cause most of the guys like the chrome rather than the polish.

The exhaust was included in the price I quoted him..and it cost me 1400 bucks to order it..so it certainly hacked the profit, how much do you think it would cost to chrome everything (disassemble..the whole 9 yards)?..and what do you think is fair for a 24x9 cast oil pan? Sorry for all the questions!

Would you polish the oil tank or chrome, to chrome it, I would rather see a photo please.. probley about 200.00-250.00 for chrome

All of it is chrome, the only thing polish is the frame.
