Treat it just like you would aluminum. The only thing is, mag may have a lot of pits in them, you may end up chasing your tail on this one. Mag. oxidizes rapidly, so you will have to coat them with something after polishing. Maybe you could strip the old paint and powder coat them chrome to get the look you want.
