I have a set of 600 RR rims to polish and they have the factory paint on them. Looks like powder coating. Can anybody give me any tips on stripping the paint off them? Everything I have polished so far has just had a thin clear coat and this stuff looks THICK. TIA

I saw the work you did on the lower fork and rims and the final drive. I have an Aero and I am getting ready to do the same things. What were the compounds you used? Just black brown and white? Any info would be appreciated

If you go the balsting route, he also told me that regular blast media (alum. oxide or glass beads) will leave a texture on aluminum. If the metal is already smooth under the paint/powder, I'd use plastic beads or walnut shells to avoid making a whole lot of unnecessary extra work. |
