Hey all, just a quick question. I'm new to the game and just want to get some info and feedback on the processes you take to polish intake manifolds.
I am about to order the large felt bob kit as recommended by caswell. The manifold is cast from factory. Is this the right way to go? How long will this take? How should i prep the item, etc? Thanks T

Mate are you doing this for work or play? V8 or 6 cyl manifold? As a rule 6 cyl manifolds are easier to polish than the V8 ones, due to the tight corners valleys etc with the V8 ones. Depending on the casting i start with 80 grit,120,180,240,240with grease. Sisal with fast cut where you can get to followed by stitch mop with hyfin (white). Then little felt wheels in the tight corners using fastcut. Finally loose colour mops big to small using hyfin. Then a good clean using wax and grease remover with soft clean rags. nb: all terms used are Australian.
