Default Polishing motorcycle brake rotors

What is the best way to polish motorcycle brake rotors. If I remember correctly, I read somewhere you use sandpaper finishing off with 2000 grit but I can't find where I read this nor can I find anything finer than 600 grit in a 6" disc for the DA sander. Can someone enlighten me on this? TIA

fatboyz,

I'd finish off with 600 grit then polish with a sewn buff and Emory, working up to white and a loose buff.
