you know....like prepping for powdercoating in order to get the contaminates out of it. think that might work? maybe as it cools down a bit so as not to shoot off too much smoke, spray it down with some acetone or carb cleaner. then give it a good cleaning before starting the polishing process.

ive been busy sanding a nissan 300zx plenum (not much fun) but il take a break from it tomorrow and do my spare cam belt cover instead and let you know, when you say put it in an oven.... err what setting do i turn the oven onto ? ive never used an oven in my life because me mam always cooked for me untill i moved in with my girlfriend so now she cooks for me instead, my choice of settings on it are 50 to 250 (its electric) and how long do i tell her to leave it in for ?, (im not totally undomesticated as i can cook beans in the microwave lol)

ok, i had a go at another cambelt cover and it seems to have come out ok this time, i didnt put it in the oven first because i didnt know how hot to make it, i think i must have done something wrong the first time around.
