Default well got one piece done what do you guys think

Well after hours of trying to get a good tehnique down I managed to get one piece complete.
- The only thing I am not to happy with is that I still get a lot of buffing lines in the piece. I mean its a mirror finish looking down on it but if you look at it from an angle you can see the buffing lines (you can probably see them somewhat in the pictures). Anyone have any input on this?

I am finishing with a 10" loose wheel with white compound on a 1800 rpm machine. I rake the wheel alot and make sure to clean off compound in between compound changes.

Might want to try an 8" wheel to further reduce your surface feet-per-minute. Also, a felt wheel might help. And sometimes it takes a light touch to get those last streaks out, which is hand skills needing time and practice to develop.

ekernel,

It looks like all your "buffing lines" are running the length of your piece. Try buffing across the piece at at least 45 degrees and see if that helps. Use white compound and a loose wheel. As mpierich stated a felt wheel might also help.

Thanks for the input guys I will spend some more time trying different tehniques and maybe get a 8" wheel or a felt wheel and give that a shot.
