Default good starting buffer?

just wondering if this would be a good starting buffer

3/4hp 3450rpm motor
its about all i could afford, just wondering if i should go with this or the caswell handdrill kit and use that with my drill press.

Actually I've had good luck with their electrically-powered stuff. You'll get a lot more use out of the buffer than a drill. If you work on large stuff you can hang the buffer upside down, then you have all the room in the world.

I too have had fairly good luck with these machines.

I have two of the 6" models in my shop and they are real workhorses. I couldn't afford to start out with much more than that and I have definitely gotten my moneys worth from them over the last year or so.

The 8" Buffer would be a great start, in my opinion.

thanks for the advise i have always been wary of harbor freights power tools, but it sounds good to me and i think i will get it
