Default Inlet polishing progress

Right, ive just polished up the inlet manifold ive been sanding for a while now. Thatnks top greaseless and some new loose mops ive managed to come up with this so far.

I find it better to actually sand what you think needs sanding, polish it to see where the imperfects are then resand, but polishing while you gives you a little hope and makes you keep going for the perfect finish.

You cant see all the imperfection as the camera's pretty old and doesnt like close up pics but here they are.

Ive grit blasted the inlet with 120g ali oxide then sanded with a da where i can, then used greasless on flt bobs, and loose mops with greaseless. Gave it a polish up yesturday and this helps me indentify where i need to spend more time on.

Not bad so far!

I feel lucky when I can talk my customers into grinding off those emblems...gives it a "cleaner" look (unless they're cool with just brightening them up a bit...). Of course most of them don't say BMW...

yeah would defiinatly be handy if i could as that top where the lines and emblems are there are a lot of pics to get at inside the roundel etc and ita a real pain, along with the lines, inbetween em has hardly been sanded. Got plenty more sanding to do but ill get there. Seeing it how it is now keeps you going

Tng21,

You might want to try the "hourglass buff" that Caswell's sells. The product code is "HGBUFF" I couldn't get it to come up when I did a search, on their site, but it's in there new catalog. It should help a lot when you buff those tubes.
