I started polishing some wheels, 1 is almost done 3 are stripped and hit with 80 grit. I need to have these done in the next two weeks for a car show. CT prefferably as I am at school up there in Hamden. If anyone could help me out or know someone that does some side work please let me know.

soccergk,
80 Grit sandpaper is to course to start with unless you have some deep gouges! Start sanding with 320 grit, finish with 600 wet, then start polishing. That will save you some time. John |

well there was a lot of piting from the casting, 80 seemed like the way to get it out. I have 80, 100, 120, 180, 220, 320, 400, 500, 600 for the DA, then I did 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, and 3000 all wet. I used th white rouge but it seemed to put more scratches in it, but it cleared up the reflection some.

ok i read through the buffing manual. I am still confused about which wheels i should be buying, I have 1 cotton sewn wheel i was using with the white, is that the right type of wheel? Should I get the blue compound for after the white? I am using an electric drill, will that get the job done?

If I want to pimp it out I might go to flannel/red but it's too glitzy for my taste. |
