Default I can't polish my stainless exhaust..

Hi friends, i just bought a stainless steel kit. Im trying to polish my bike's exhaust to a mirror finish like before. Instead of making it shine im making it worst.

How do i polish with e buff wheels? In any directions? For every direction i buff my exhuast will have lots of zig-zag marks on it cause by the sisal wheel/black compound. By the way do i just use a wet cloth to clean away the compound before i change to another? Or i must use soap or something?

Sorry for asking so much at a time. Really new to this..My exhaust is now all hazy marks..Sad.

Don't use a sisal wheel unless you're trying to take out deep scratches. If all you're trying to do is buff out "hair lines", use a cotton buff. When you get the sisal marks out, go to white compound on a new buff. If you want, you could use an SS compound on a another cotton buff as a final. Don't mix compounds on the same buff. Use a separate buff for each compound. Screed often and at the end of your buffing. Store the buffs separate.

The residual compound can be removed with soft rag dipped in naptha or paint thinner. Or it can be removed with car, SS or chrome polish.

OKie~! Am trying on that, but 1st i got to figure the motion for buffing 1st as it's not a flat surface and furthermore is my very 1st time in polishing. But i think 1 of my cotton wheel got mixed up with some left over emry black, as i use only a wet cloth to clean between changing of compound. How do i get rid of the black compound residual on a Spiral S./green? Thank u very much.
