Default Suggestions for a cast auto intake

I'm brushing up on my polishing skills as has been a few years since my last real project. I am going to pick up a Mustang intake to practice on....

What would be best to get the initial finish off.....just start sanding with a air sander on a fairly rough grit?

(just some googled photos)

Since this is the most basic of information, I suggest you use the search function and do some reading, then come back with specific questions.

Ok...picked this up for 100$ shipped off of ebay....looked like a nice challenge:

Will start with some paint stripper to get the yellow paint off, then see what I got to work with......

y2kgtp,

When your in the process of striping the intake use a plastic scraper so that you don't scratch the aluminum!
If the manifold is fairly smooth other that casting remains, I'd take care of the casting remains first, then try some emery on a sisal buff. You may not have to sand depends on how the aluminum is after you have it stripped! If it's to rough then use some greaseless and then move to the emery.
