Default cracked clearcoat

Learned a valuable lesson recently, polished a pair of aluminum motorcycle levers and then clearcoated them with acrylic. the handles looked really nice, however after about a week they were brought back due to flex cracks in the clearcoat. will be redoing and then waxing this time. Hope this helps somone else.

I dislike clearcoat of any kind, but if you gotta do it Zoop seems like the best. Anyhow, for something that's going to be pulled and stretched and handled constantly, even worse idea.

Why strip and re-polish every few years when you can do a little maintenance once a month and avoid the pain?

zoopseal isn't like a clear coat paint type finish. you can't see it on there. it's supposed to stay looking great with just regular washing with soapy water.

Thumbs up Re: cracked clearcoat

Another great product that Caswells has is a sealer concentrate on page 29 of the catalog
I have used this product it dries and cures in about 20 minn as apposed to days with zoop seal
and is much cheaper and easier to use....

Thanks for the feedback, I originally was going to wax the handles but was wary of them becoming slick, tell me , does zoop seal dry and not leave a slippery film? wouldn't want brake & clutch levers to be slippery.
Thanks,
clint
