good idea m8, i got a beast of an angle grinder, but ad reckon about the 10" one would be an all rounder.do you have a compressor etc? as some of the air tools are great.i think getting the right attachments for the Dremel would be the way ahead for the nooks n crannies, getting the edges straight is a pain especially around the lettering.
these are the attachments i was on about last night got them off Ebay, to prolong the discs i would use better glue as the adhesive isn't too good

greaseless does take time and can be a royal pain,as you said you need to be getting your times down with out sacrificing quality.let me know how you get on at the Range with the angle grinder.

'Scuse me buttin' in, but that is correct and ideal. I always use a "hard" media first (rolls, whatever), then take out the ripples with greaseless. Worth it. Tip: use white rouge on the hardened greaseless like grinder's grease. You'll see.

Oh, and consider starting with 220 on cast stuff - not too bad and it saves a step, and allows more control since you're cutting slower.

hello mpierich, many thanks for your help.i think most guys starting off will get frustrated at what tools to start off with and what to use in the more inticate area's. i started with 220 and you are darn right about grabbing back time, cast is a bitch to work on.Tng21 turns out to a couple of miles away from me, a small world so we are going to get together and swap tips etc.
unlike him i'm not up against time to get my poilshing done, but where i live i can always get buisness for him....and maybe in return once my oven is finished he can get buisness for my powder coating.
    HAPPY CHRISTMAS

cheers mpierich i start by grealess 120 on a hard wheel which blitz the hard cast off to start with but thats a costly first stage really. £7 a bar in uk so trying to find the all important 1st stage super fast sanding. I think if i started at 220 or there abouts the 1st stage would take ages so i dont mind the extra stage.

what i would like to find though is grealess in a 600 grit, the polishing supply website i use only go up to 400, so i hand sanded a afm in 600 to see if it come out with a better result and it looked great.

And what do you mean use white rough on the hardened greaseless? coat a mop ( buff ) with grealess then lightly spin some white rouge on top of that? If yes, what does that do?

You took the thoughts right out of head fella. The mrs said last night maybe you two will be able to help each other out and maybe join forces, and i thought if you do more powder coating than polishing, id do the polishing side and you do the powdercoating side.

    Im hatching a plan lol

As Emory (black) is about the same grit as 400 greaseless, try going to Emory after your greaseless. If that doesn't work try using Stainless Steel after the greaseless.

After the greaseless hardens run your mop very lightly through some white. It will act as a lubricant, and your greaseless will work a little better.
