ok guys! heres the finished result. the front and back of the rim has been painted with etch primer and 2 coats of black lacquer (and an extra thick coat for the front so its shiney). and the dish has been grinded back with 200-400-600-800 then autosol 3 times. im happy with the result. what do you guys think?

now.. last thing! what product is there that i can spray/apply to the wheel to ensure it wont rust/oxidise, and keep it shiney. is there any waxes or something you guys like to use that you can just spray on your finished metals to keep the water off them?

Thanks a lot for all your guys help! i really appreciate everything!

vinnie700,

The ZoopSeal will work on the polished aluminum but not on the paint.

thanks for all the compliments guys! im pretty impressed myself lol. not bad for my first time doing this kind of thing. im just doing the front wheels of the car now. then ill take a pic of them on the car. i got some turtle wax spray on stuff thats ment to be good for keeping the water off. hopefully that should be good enough.
