Good luck, and try to keep the broken bones to a minimum...

LOL one customer who has some Bul parts raced a 71 Duc 450RT-we called it "The Duck"-sounded great but all bark, no bite. I'm 40-quit current mx last time in 98, vintage mxed since 91-love it. Fav bike was 77Maico 440-had to sell last year. Gonna build up another AW with parts traded for poilsh work.
BTW Hodaka tanks were chromed steel(execept 74 125 Super Combat)-not too rare.

Anyhoo, now have some Rickman(British) hubs-they are so porous they make the Spanish parts look like Japanese stuff. I can make customer happy with a very fine brushed finish, how can I do that?
Also, Baz or Mp, any guidelines for pricing hubs(I know it can depend upon the amount of work it takes etc-and what is competitive locally with other polishers), maybe a rough ballpark. I just need to get be a little more thna fair, I have more and more work awaiting( very fortunately).

BTW will get greaseless ordered Fri or so, thanks for tips on it,
James

My fave I had was an AJS 250 Stormer...really didn't need a front wheel because it almost never touched the ground...

With a light touch you can make a brushed finish with fine greaselss, but it's tough to keep it from having streaks that way.

MP, a Stormer, huh...like this?

http://www.amsracing.com/featured_bi...l?bike=ajs_250
Also, the owner of that co.-Dave goes really quick on a Stormer, and has trick Cotton Corbra(Villiers Starmaker powered)-1965.

What about using these wheels for a satin finish? Or even to remove material prior to polishing?

http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...beH55CPWS904gl
They cost mega $ and did not see them on this site-I really want to order from Caswell only from here out, though-since they have this forum among other things-really help the polisher. ..and I need help I can't answer the phone until I finish some more work now( two more bikes since yesterday).
BTW is $35 a hub unreasonable when I have to grind away a lot of marring etc and spend about est 4hrs on each hub?

Thanks, James

Yep, that Stormer brings back pleasant memories for sure.

Depends on the hub, but I would probably be in the $50 - $60 dollar range, and I work fairly cheap...depends a LOT on the configuration (i.e., are there ribs to get into, etc?)

MP, thanks-they are Rickman hubs-I bet you remember the Rickmans-no ribs or grooves, but typically porous. I think my ballpark $ was close knowing that.

You gotta e-mail me off board, I could send you some Vintage Mx links you wouldn't believe...or better yet get you on an old bike( we have pretty full over 60 and over 70 classes Including Dick Mann and Jeff Smith who race).
