I have never used vinegar....Vinegar is a oxide from wine, so its a effective cleaner...anyone that has a peice of metal, try to use vinegar mixed with table salt...That should also remove oxidation from CU?AG alloy...A Ni alloy you have to test it on...
Need something stronger...Try lemon juice then vinegar and salt solution...even cigarette ashes mixed with water will clean non ferrouse metals well...

Good to know...although personally I'd just buff it off...
