Well, no problem I called and found they are infact 3lbs. I placed order today-and should receive shortly.
BTW I have some pitting on some hubs, I have sanded up to 600 grit-and it appeared to be gone...until I cut it with emery.. Is this something the greaseless will cut down? Also, getting a super sisal bar, and wheel. Hoping that armed with greaseless, sisal wheel etc I can cut down on some time. I seem to have amount of work for now, but need to get it out and done right-or no $. James |

Sisal is generally only used to cut hard stainless. Try it, but you may find it leaves more scratches. BTW, the greaseless probably won't stick to sisal very well, if that's what your plan is. |

Thanks, MP. I called a friend in Ca who has several bikes with these hubs-she said they are smooth, no pits. I also determined that here are both magesium and the more common aluminum Rickman hubs-and that these are the aluminum. I have alternate plan for these hubs, since they really didn't have mirror finish new anyway-I am fitting to spin them in a lathe at slow speed-cut with med then fine emery paper lubricated with mineral oil. i should be able to touch them lightly with loose wheel /white. If not, the spun finish is actually a bit brighter than original.
I do think the greaseless( on spiral cotton wheel) will help, and the super sisal on sisal wheel will help. I have used spiral wheel with emery( even tripoli) to smooth out casting especially toward the ends of forks sliders, or on side covers. Can't wait to get my order, and it's even warming up here BTW I placed order on phone and salesman was very knowledgable and friendly. Thanks, James |
