Default Satin finish without bead blastin?

Is there a way to create a nice satin finish on brass, without bead blastiin?
I have a buffer and wheels, but no sand/bead blaster.

Thanks for any info.

You try a scotch brite pad? Greaseless compounds will work, but they will make the finish a bit uneven. A wire brush will give you a brushed finish.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to check my local shop and see if they have wheels made out of that scotchbrite stuff (I assume you mean the green scrub pad).

I know I can get a uniform brush finish with my wire wheels; I chuck a wire brush wheel into my drill press and using the drill press' baseplate as a level guide, run the piece against the horizontaly spinning brush, while raising and lowering the drill bit with the press handle. It works pretty well, but I'd really like to be able to produce that universal satin look you can get with the bead blaster.
