Default need assistance finding piece of equipment

hi everyone, new around here.

i've been looking for about 2 weeks now and have not been able to find what i'm looking for. i have alot of polishing equipment already, but i can't seem to find something like a dremel tool that will allow me to use attachments on a 1/4" shank. the dremel will go 1/8" max, i am trying to get something that is lighter than a cordless drill, and i have an electric die grinder already, but it only runs at 25,000 rpm which is entirely too fast for any bobs or other attachments.

does anyone know what i can use, and where i can buy one? if possible i would like to keep the cost below $100 for that item, but if i have to, i will pay more for a quality piece.

thanks in advance for any help/info

I've got a Foredom that is basically an industrial dremel with a flex shaft. Mine has a small jacobs style chuck, but there are a bunch of different hand pieces you can get for it. Mine also has a foot control like a sewing machine. I'm new here too and waiting for my first orders from Caswell to come in, but I'm sure it should work great for the tight areas.

How 'bout a varible speed die grinder? Or, get a speed control (they make 'em for wood routers).

hope it works out, only ten bucks either way, so no real loss. i want to order one of those industrial flex shafts, but before i do, i have to make sure i'll be able to make a few dollars on the side with it. it's hard to justify a $400 item if you have no idea it'll be used more than twice

I have one of those on a 1/3 hp motor...it's a little tiring to use but indispensable for some things, 'specially when you get too old to hold a car wheel up to the buffer...

speed control on a 300 watt die grinder, with 3" wheel = massive failure

it don't have enough balls to turn anything with compound on it. out of this experience, i will say, do not order anything from harbor freight, they took almost 3 full weeks to send me a $10 piece of equipment
