Default Hazing pattern???

I reciently started polishing some aluminum wheels, and I am using an angle grinder. I am finding alot of fine scratches when I'm done but i think I found how to fix that by reading previous treads. My concern is that i am seeing a cloudy effect in the pattern that I move my buffing wheel. For example hazing in parellel lines in the direction that I am working. Is there a certain way that I should be moving the buffing wheel across my workpiece? Also should I be moving the Buffing wheel pretty fast, or at a slower pace. Thank you in advance for info!

Try: 1) moving the tool only in the direction of rotation, not against. 2)using a softer wheel. 3)slower tool speed, and/or 4) successively lighter pressure on the workpiece.

Are you cleaning your buff enough? Are you changing your buff with each different compound?

Are you buffing in one direction or you changing the angle of your buffing? It also could be you are not getting your metal hot enough to melt the rouge!

Buff in one direction then change directions by at least 90 degrees, if possible.

Difficult to explain, and it also depends on the thickness of your metal. You move your buffing wheel fast enough to get the shine you want. You need enough heat to melt the rouge and enough speed as to not burn the metal. It's called the "sweet spot", you'll know when you hit it.

Thank you for the advise guys! I tried switching up the directions while polishing and it made a huge difference. I'm going to do some more work tomorrow and try some different techniques. Here's a pic of my project wheels they are my first polishing experience and I want perfection...well close anyway Here is the one I'm working on currently:
