Anodized Aluminum: How can you tell if it is anodized in raw form?

Somewhat new to polishing (an addition to my business) and I need some way to know whether the aluminum boxes I have are anodized, which would determine the best course to mirror-like finishing procedure. Any help?

Get a container of EasyOff oven cleaner. Touch some on the oven cleaner to an inconspicuous place and see if it bubbles. If it does it's anodized. Be careful, if left on the aluminum to long it will etch the aluminum.
You could always call the box mfg. to see if they were anodized!
