Default ****Chrome Polishing 1958 Cady rims****

I have a 1958 Cady with (stock original) chrome rims and they are in good shape, but we have some tarnishing in between the spokes. There are a few spots that are "pitted" and I realize not much can be done with those. In 1958 the chroming process was certainly different from today’s methods and you can see "waving" in the finish and it appears the chrome was rather thick looking. My question is, is there any certain product or method that should be utilized to bring out the luster (polish) of these old surfaces. We intend on using small drill attachment to access between the spokes. I just wanted to check to see if there are any methodology or product for these old surfaces. Thanks for any and all help.

Probably should start with white compound on a spiral-sewn cotton wheel - spend more time on scratches and they might buff out. Anything more aggressive and you run the risk of burning through the chrome - if you see copper, stop (it should have a copper layer being that old).
