hammerdog,

The tunnel has probably been splashed and spotted with salt water. You will need to wash in some type of metal wash to take the stain out. I don't know is Caswell's has this or not. I would try Pilot Supplies, Avionics, and Homebuilt Aircraft Parts from Aircraft Spruce and Specialty Co. for the metal wash if Caswell's doesn't have it.

New to forum but have experience polishing snowmobile tunnels. I used Mothers Polish I got at a local auto supply place. Hand rubbed and got great results. Used fine Scotch Brite pad on pitted areas. I attached a picture of my finished job on my 800. I think it turned out really well. I did 3 sleds in about 2 hours. Probably would have looked better if I had used a buffing wheel on a drill but didn't feel I really needed it. Rode the sled all winter and still looks great.
