Thread: polishing problem

    Default polishing problem

I am polishing a spun aluminum oil tank that I have polished to perfection about 4 years ago.I clened the tank thoroughly over and over and then attempted to polish it. No matter what I do I continue to get a black haze over the tank and it will not polish. No,the haze is not due to to much polish or a contaminated buffing wheel as I have tried several. Is it possible the aluminum has become oil impregnated and if so can this be remidied.Any help would be appreciated. THANK YOU

You're going to have to say what you've done so far before anyone can help you out.

In other words, if you're using a Brillo pad, it's easy to figure out. If you're using black compound on a spiral wheel, then we can talk.
