What is trimetal plating?

I've been looking for what trimetal plating is for days now. my main question is how is it better than electroless nickel plating and what does this plating consist of?

I have experimented with nickle solution containing nickle, tin, and cobalt which is a substitute for chrome. These types of plating finishes are expense and owed by chemical plating companies.

my customer was confused when he said he need trimetal plating
what they really wanted was white bronze electroplating.
