Currently trying to polish epoxy blended with atomized copper. Wet sanded to 1000, tried brown compound w/ spiral sewn wheel - this burns/melts epoxy. Brown compound w/ loose cotton wheel polishes but a dull reddish brown color. Tried both white compounds rec. for plastic, the 63 and the 65 no effect. Can't get it bright.

Oh! Dear
Reminds me of Mr Edison, who said, "at least we know what doesn't work!". If the epoxy melted, then your surface speed was too fast. Treat the material like a plastic, not a metal, and you might resolve it.

[quote=russ910casting]And to treat the epoxy like plastic my first step is ...? Max. wheel speed? Is there a certain resin that lends itself more readily to this application ( metal powder and polished)?
